Hiding things from your spouse can have many negative effects on your relationship. Each time I did this in my marriage with Ceci, I hurt her in ways I can never fully understand. Hiding things might seem like a good idea at first because you probably trying to present yourself in a way that is not necessarily true but it has devastating effects including;

When you hide something from your partner, you're not being fully open and honest with them.

Keeping secrets can be stressful because you have to remember what you've told your partner and worry about them finding out.

Once you start keeping secrets, it can be easier to continue doing so. You may also have to keep more secrets related to the original one.
Decreased well-being
Research shows that keeping secrets can lead to decreased relationship satisfaction and well-being. It can also impact your physical and mental health.
Some reasons why people keep secrets include: Fear of being judged, Wanting to protect themselves from hurt, and Feeling embarrassed or ashamed to open up.
